Charles Taylor, a former Hearts of Oak and Kotoko winger, has asked the Ghana Football Association to stop begging players to join the Black Stars.
The GFA has persuaded several players to join the senior national team over the years.
There has recently been a squabble between the FA and Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu, who has declined several call-ups due to personal reasons.
According to Charles Taylor of Kumasi-based Akoma FM, it’s past time to stop trying to persuade players to join the Black Stars.
“We should contact players who have made a commitment to the Black Stars.” We don’t have to beg players to join the Stars. Commitment to the country should be prioritized. When I received my call
I didn’t sleep the entire night because I was called to the National Team. I was excited to join the team. We should not waste time pleading with players who are not committed to our strategy.”
The Black Stars have qualified for the World Cup in Qatar, where they will play alongside Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea.
