In most European Football Competitions, the African Cup of Nations Qualifiers (AFCON) will begin a few days after the end of the 2021/22 season. This will result in African players returning to their home countries to prepare competitive squads.

 

However, Arsenal football club has expressed grave concern about the health of their midfield maestro Thomas Partey, who missed five consecutive games near the end of the season due to a knee injury.

Despite appearing in training days before Arsenal hosted Everton at Emirates in the final match of the previous season, the Black Star captain is still deemed unfit to play for his country, according to football London.

Arsenal have suffered as a result.

They have requested that Thomas Partey be excused from Ghana’s next two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. This is to allow the player to fully recover and regain his fitness. The club hopes to have the player physically fit before the pre-season matches begin, as they rely more on him in the midfield.
